This talk will share about my own personal journey to sobriety as a Chicana women living in Los Angeles. It will speak to ways to gain support and begin the process to sobriety and indigenous traditions and ways of healing.
Since late 2006 I have been sober and I haven’t looked back. I don’t miss it because I’m richer in many ways because of it and I’m not feeding in to 1 of the biggest killers of communities of color and all people. Many of us want healthy communities & to revolutionizing our communities –but when the killer is in our fridge and in our home and is the gateway to so much more violence and issues -we have to talk about it. I have been called to share my story and also share alterNatives. This talk is suggested to also share time for a full talking circle with all participants.
