ARTES stands for Art, Resistance, Teatro, Expression, and Song

A new Artist/Speaker Series at Cal State Long Beach by Assistant Professor Felicia Montes

It is a new series of cultural events and guest presentations and performances by local Southerm California Chicanx Latinx Artists and Performers from the art, dance, and music worlds. Guests will share in artist talks about their work and also conduct workshops for the campus community. This project is in conjunction with Professor Felicia Montes’ Chicano Latino Studies upper division class which focuses on art, music, and dance from the Chicanx Latinx community.

This presentation is part of the ARTES Series. ARTES stands for Art, Resistance, Teatro, Expression, and Song and is a new program at Cal State Long Beach created by CHLS Assistant Professor Felicia Montes.

ARTES Spring 2025 Series includes silkscreen, Aztec dance, bomba music/dance, son jarocho music/dance, and corridos.           

This series of speakers will culminate in the ARTES event in Week 15, Spring 2025
